Our crew devoted a week to remodeling the boy’s bathroom at Coalition for Kids in Johnson City.

When Cindy Young, the Director of Community Outreach at Coalition for Kids (C4K), reached out to us about a giving back project, we jumped at the opportunity. We have a big goal of reaching 2,021 service hours for our 60th anniversary, and COVID-19 has left us masked and socially distanced for the majority of the year. We love coming together to collect donations for various organizations, but we were ready to put some skin in the game. When Cindy mentioned the boy’s bathroom at C4K needed remodeling, we knew it was the perfect job for our team.
The week-long project included a bathroom deep clean, fresh coats of paint and two hand-painted murals. New mirrors, faucets, and urinal dividers were installed in addition to the new tile floor, which was an exciting challenge for our team! Micah 6:8 and Joshua 1:9 were selected intentionally by our team to be the scripture murals that these boys will see every day.

We are so thankful to BCS for their hard work on this project. You guys have really helped us take Coalition one step further in being like a home for these kids.

We hope the boys at C4K love their new bathroom and we are grateful that Coalition brought us this opportunity. We may have still been masked during the renovation project, but we loved being together and rolling up our sleeves to give back in our community. Nothing builds a team like working shoulder-to-shoulder to bless others!
C4K is a non-profit with a mission to provide educational, spiritual, and social guidance to children in the community through their after school program. The organization is truly making a difference in the lives of children and we wanted to do our part to aid in their mission!
