My Role at BCS
I am a Tax Manager at BCS. I specialize in Estates, Trusts, Gift Tax, and Individual Taxation. I especially enjoy helping families who are going through a tough time when dealing with the loss of a loved one. It is rewarding to ease their burdens by helping them through the process of all the tasks that need to be accomplished after someone dies, which goes beyond filing their final tax returns. Sometimes, clients need someone to just listen before they can move on and deal with all the overwhelming tasks when there is a loss of a loved one. I also enjoy working on individual tax returns, especially helping clients understand their tax situation as events occur throughout the year, for example, sale of a rental property, taking required minimum distributions from their IRAs, etc.
Education and Experience
I have 29 years of experience as a CPA and I have been with BCS for 23 years. I got my B.S. in Accounting from the University of Mount Olive in Mount Olive, North Carolina. I am also a member of both the AICPA and the TSCPA.
Community Involvement and Personal Notes
My husband Glen and our 2 Miniature Schnauzers, Marty & Precious, live in Elizabethton, TN. After 21 years of Glen’s service in the U.S. Air Force we moved home to be near family. Although there are sacrifices, we both were proud and honored for Glen to be of service to our country.
We are members of Lynn Valley Baptist Church in Elizabethton, TN.
