This week we participated in United Way Week of Caring by working two shifts at the Salvation Army Thrift Store.

Each year, United Way of East TN Highlands coordinates volunteer projects across Washington, Carter, Johnson and Southern Sullivan Counties. This year, our BCS team of volunteers was assigned the Salvation Army Thrift Store in Johnson City.
We divided our team of 20 employees between two 3-hour shifts across two days, with some of our employees working both days. The thrift store had a recent influx of donations that needed to be sorted and baled. At the end of the week we had organized and baled nearly 10,000 pounds of donations. We can’t wait for next year’s Week of Caring!
