Lottie Ryans and her team with the First Tennessee Development District produce a great event which helps educate students about job opportunities in business related fields. Karen McMurray, Kim Buckles and Jeremy Wright joined Kevin Peters in leading the discussion for the Accounting and Auditing group. They were also joined by Dr. Ashley Bentley of ETSU’s College of Business and Technology. BCS has been a participant all four years.
The event, which was virtual this year, provides local high school students, with an interest in business related careers an opportunity to hear from local professionals. The event includes an overview session by career path as well as a breakout Q&A session. We focused on providing the students data about accounting careers including career options, job forecast statistics for the accounting profession and local higher educational opportunities. BCS sees this event as a great way to give back to our region and further mentor students interested in accounting and business related careers.
Kevin Peters also joined Lottie Ryans and Chris McIntosh on Daytime Tri-Cities to discuss the importance of the partnership and the involvement of BCS in CareerQuest. Watch the segment here!
