Reminder: The filing due date for the February Sales Tax Return is March 20th, so now is the time to set up your new account on TNTAP.
The Tennessee Department of Revenue has launched a new website called TNTAP or Tennessee Taxpayer Access Point. TNTAP is a free website that will make filing your taxes quicker, more efficient, and more simplified. You will have the ability to perform different options related to your tax accounts that have never before been offered from the TNDOR, such as:
- apply for a new license or tax account,
- view payments, notices, and account balances as well as other account information,
- edit your account information such as name, address and contact information
- view correspondence and send messages to the TN Department of Revenue.
- submit electronic tax returns and payments
- view, amend and print prior tax returns
- provide tax bonds and riders
TNTAP will be launched in four phases over the next four years. Each phase covers a group of taxes and once the site has went through the four phase rollout, you will be able to access all your TNDOR taxes in just one place. The first phase launched this year on March 6th, 2017 and includes:
- sales tax
- liquor-by-the-drink tax
- professional privilege tax
- tobacco tax
- television and telecommunications sales tax.
Everyone needing to file one or more of the tax types above, must create a new a logon on the TNTAP website to get started. Go to the TNTAP website by clicking here to setup your new account.
Before you start, you will need a few items to setup your account, including:
- Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) or Social Security Number (SSN)
- Business name
- Account number, account type and zip code
- One of three past payment amounts or a Letter ID from TNDOR
- Valid e-mail address
